III IIIIIIIIIIIIIIII
May 9, 1980
Mr. Richard W. Peden
North Park State Bank
P, 0. Drawer 758
Walden, Colorado 80480
RE: Holsinger Gravel Pit, letter of objection
Onr File: HBO-52
Dear Mr. Peden:
On April 23, 1980, the Hincd Land Reclamation Board granted
approval of the above permit. Your letter~of abjection was
received May la t, and could not 6e considered by the Board
per Rule 3.3 in the Rules and Regulations (attached).
In a letter dated February 13, 1980, Jackson County indicated
to the Division that the above mine is located in Jaekaon
County's Ranching District ?one and is a "Use By Right" for
e sand and gravel extractive operation affecting leas than
10 acres and extracting leas than 70,000 tone of mineral,
overburden, or combination thereof during any calendar year
(see copy of letter, attached),
4!e are sorry pour objections were not considered before the
$oard made its decision. In retrospect, it appears that the
nature o£ the objections were not concerned so much with
environmental factors as they were aimed at coning conflicts
and should probably be directed toward the County for any
subsequent action,
Respectfully yours,
Brad Janes
Reclamation Specialist
~ BJ/jm
Enclosures
cc: Reith Holsinger
