The application is tq conduct
surface mining and reclamation. The applicant proposes to mine
gravel and reclaim the area.
The permit application claims that no groundwater t~till be
encountered. Reclamation will be accomplished by regrading and
reseedinq_ the disturbed area which is to be used as a sawmill site.
While o-+e can recommend approval of this operation, we would like to
paint out that if groundwater is encountered and evposec to the
atmosphere, a well permit must be obtained from the Dffice ofi the
State Engineer. Also, since groundwater in the area is tributary
to an over-appropriated stream system, a court approved Man for
augmentation would be needed.

of ~~~ •
~ti 099
re o
N ti
* ~ ~ OY. ~
* X876 s
JERIS A.
