As part of the
State of Colorado mining permit the Division of Minerals and
Geology (D.M.G,), placed a requirement on Lakewoods' permit that
if two of the wells on the Church Pit (permit # M-79-045) mine
were removed that we needed to replace them. The wells were
identified by the DOE as well numbers 5186 and 5286: We maintain
that DoE removed them as part of Church Ranch settlement and we
should not have to replace them if they are not needed to monitor
the West Spray Field.
i have done research that suggests the wells were abandoned
and closed per Colorado laws in 2002 and have found statemeht~ in
the Church Ranch court filings that these wells weie not needed
and could be•remov~d. Attached are copies of the State We11
,.
Abandonment Report for each well•and a plat showing the approxi-_
~~s
