The objectives <br />of this Section are to ensure that all applications for permits and that all surface mining and <br />reclamation operations are conducted under permits issued in accordance with the requirements <br />of the Rules associated with Title 34, Article 33, of the Revised Statutes or the Regulations of the <br />Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />2.01.2 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR EXISTING OPERATIONS <br />LCC is filing a permit application for a new permit. This permit will include mining of coal at <br />the Lorencito Canyon Mine site property. The existing New Elk preparation plant, refuse disposal <br />area, and coal loadout will be utilized to process and ship the coal to market. The New Elk <br />facility is currently under a permit (C-81-012) issued by the Colorado Mined Land Reclamation <br />Board, administered by the Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology (CDMG). <br />2.01.3 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR PERMITS FOR ALL SURFACE <br />COAL MINING AND RECLAMATION OPERATIONS <br />LCC proposes to operate the Lorencito Canyon Mine under a new permit issued by the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />2.01.4 PERMIT REQUIREMENTS FOR NEW SURFACE COAL MINING <br />AND RECLAMATION OPERATIONS <br />LCC proposes to operate the Lorencito Canyon Mine under a new permit issued by the Colorado <br />Mined Land Reclamation Board. <br />2.01.5 PERMIT TERM <br />LCC plans to operate the Lorencito Canyon Mine under a permit issued by the Colorado Mined <br />Land Reclamation Board for a term of five (5) years. As the operation continues through the life <br />of the mine, additional renewal and revisions, where required, will be made to continue mining. <br />2.01.6 PERMIT FEES <br />The permit fee of $2,500 is hereby filed with this application to cover the anticipated cost of <br />reviewing, administering, and enforcing the anticipated permit issued under this application. <br />ii <br />PERMR.O]5\Drmmber ZO, 19% 2.01-1 <br />
