Adequacy Items
The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the
applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et seq. Mineral Rules and
Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board
Exhibit B - Site Description
1. Only Pagel of the two page Division of Wildlife report format was
submitted. Please provide page 2 of this report. Page 2 should include
a wildlife inventory and reclamation recommendations written by Division
of Wildlife staff.
2. The site description should include an inventory of the soils and
vegetation present at the site. You have included a letter written by
the Soil Conservation Service (S.C.S.) to provide this information.
However, this letter does not describe the present soils and vegetation
at the site; rather, it provides recommendations for the reclamation
plan (Exhibit D). Please provide the following additional information:
a. Please indicate the total amount of topsoil presently stockpiled (in
cubic yards) and the approximate amount of topsoil that will be
stripped and stockpiled during future mining (in cubic yards).
b. Please provide a general descrin~ion of the vegetation found
adjacent to the site which is probably representative of the site
vegetation that was present before mining disturbed. You may wish
to contact the S.C.S. again to provide this information.
Exhibit C - Mining Plan
1. Please provide specific plans for protecting topsoil salvage piles from
wind and water erosion and excessive handling. We recommend placement
of the piles in areas located away from active or future working areas,
grading to 3:1 and less slopes, and revegetating the piles with a
temporary cover of grasses. An appropriate seed mixture could be
recommended by the S.C.S..
