Martinek, Reclamation Specialist~C~"~ <br />RE: File No. M-87-027; Hardship Lode Quarry <br />Adequacy Items <br />The following items must be addressed by the applicant in order to satisfy the <br />applicable requirements of C.R.S. 34-32-101 et seq. Mineral Rules and <br />Regulations of the Mined Land Reclamation Board <br />Exhibit B - Site Description <br />1. Only Pagel of the two page Division of Wildlife report format was <br />submitted. Please provide page 2 of this report. Page 2 should include <br />a wildlife inventory and reclamation recommendations written by Division <br />of Wildlife staff. <br />2. The site description should include an inventory of the soils and <br />vegetation present at the site. You have included a letter written by <br />the Soil Conservation Service (S.C.S.) to provide this information. <br />However, this letter does not describe the present soils and vegetation <br />at the site; rather, it provides recommendations for the reclamation <br />plan (Exhibit D). Please provide the following additional information: <br />a. Please indicate the total amount of topsoil presently stockpiled (in <br />cubic yards) and the approximate amount of topsoil that will be <br />stripped and stockpiled during future mining (in cubic yards). <br />b. Please provide a general descrin~ion of the vegetation found <br />adjacent to the site which is probably representative of the site <br />vegetation that was present before mining disturbed. You may wish <br />to contact the S.C.S. again to provide this information. <br />Exhibit C - Mining Plan <br />1. Please provide specific plans for protecting topsoil salvage piles from <br />wind and water erosion and excessive handling. We recommend placement <br />of the piles in areas located away from active or future working areas, <br />grading to 3:1 and less slopes, and revegetating the piles with a <br />temporary cover of grasses.
