Long
Division Director
Re: Ophir Lode, File No. M-2001-063, Permit Application, Request for Fourth Extension of Decision Date.
Dear Mr. Giesy,
I received your letter dated December 23, 2001, in which you ask fora 20-day extension of the decision date for the
permit application named above. I am approving this request, and have set the new decision date from December
28, 2001, to January 17, 2002.
I also received the packet of adequacy response materials you sent. I am busily reviewing the material, and will
contact you promptly if [have any questions. So far the material appears to address my concerns, and I should be
able to calculate a bond amount soon.
One item of note is that, if the decision date amves and the only outstanding adequacy issue is the BLM right-of-
entry agreement for the 2.09-acre triangle, I can probably condition my approval so that the permit may be issued,
but with the stipulation that the agreement be submitted as soon as it is available but before any mining activity.
If you have questions or comments, I may be reached at the Division's Durango field office: 701 Camino del Rio,
Room 125, Durango, CO 81301; tel 970/247-5193 or fax 970/247-5104.
Sincerely,
Bob Oswald
Environmental Protection Specialist
cc: Barry Tollefson, BLM, Gunnison
a:\oplur appl ext04/rco
