The application is to conduct~s!rrface mining
and reclamation. The entire operation is to be a dry pit and nn
ground water will be encountered. Due to this, we have no
abjection to approval of this apRlicatior~. lJe would like to point
out that if ground water is encountered and exposed to the
atmosphere, the operator must obtain a well permit from this ofifiice
prior to beginning operation. Also, since any exposed ground water
~.n this area is tributary to an over-appropriated stream system, a
substitute supply plan or plan for augmentation would be required.
f~hould you have any additional questions, please contact this
nfifice.
cc; Steve Witte, Division Engineer
David Jones, Water Commissioner
