The scope of our work was to advance borings at <br />designated locations, classify the materials encountered and <br />submit logs noting the materials encountered. <br />Enclosed are the logs to the test borings for the Crader <br />Pit. The test borings were advanced on May 5, 1985 using a <br />four (4) inch diameter continuous flight auger. The approximate <br />location of the test borings are shown on Figure 1. The <br />location of the test borings were determined in the field by <br />La Plata County representatives. <br />Gravel with varying amounts of cobbles, sand and silt was <br />encountered in test hole 1 to a depth of twenty nine (29) feet. <br />Auger refusal was encountered in the bottom of test boring 1 <br />at twenty nine (29) feet in the gravel. A slightly silty clay <br />was encountered in test boring 2 from the ground surface to <br />eight and one half (8.5) feet below the surface <br />A stiff <br />P.O.
