This would be 15 to 20 yeazs of pure
honor for the residents of this canyon.
I am an adjoining property owner (in my late 60's) to this proposed industrial
development. My property lies north and east of the proposed operation.
Due to the many new residents moving here over the past 10 years, this is now a
residential azea -not industrial.
The noise and dusddirt factor alone would be detrimental to everyone's health -
mine especially, as I am allergic to dust/dirt which if it gets into my lungs, it brings on
attacks of bronchitis/asthma. There would be a great deal of dusddirt coming into y back
yazd as there aze wind and air currents that travel right up the little canyon into my yazd. I
live in my back yard during the spring and summer months -entertaining with baz-b-ques,
parties, etc. You can imagine trying to have a function with dusUdirt swirling about, much
less the noise.
And here we get to the noise -bulldozers ripping and gouging out rock, crushing
noises, hydraulic hammering going on; the sound of compressors and portable generators
filling the air all day long.
Then there is the noise of dozens of trucks using jake brakes coming in and going
out - up and down the roads. This is a danger in itself. They are going to have to come in
and go out on a blind curve. How dangerous is that! We have people (including children)
who ride their horses up and down the road that is groposed for all this truck traffic -
think of the safety of those riders. Most of us have small ranches and many of us have
horses (including me). I suppose you aze going to say -well, don't ride your horses.
The visual effect will be devastating to this little mountain. It will be scarred with
the taking of all the trees, some of which are hundreds of years old. I've seen what
reclamation does -and believe me - it doesn't look the same afterwazd.
You would be displacing deer and many other wild creatures from their natural
habitat - 15 to 20 years of displacement. Not only would the wildlife leave this area that
would be mined, but the deer allong with other wildlife would move completely out of
this area, the noise alone would keep them away from the azea including my yeazd where
I enjoy watching them come into graze - I shudder to even think about it.
There has been no mine activity in yeazs. The defunct, existing red shale mine is
no longer in use (thank goodness), it is an abomination to the hillside that once was -big
rocks hanging precariously on the side of a gouged out hillside with lazge holes and pits
in the ground uncovered. On top of this, there is rusted out machinery everwhere and junk
of all kinds including abandoned trailers it is an absolute eyesore -WE DON'T NEED
