Loye, <br />Senior Reclamation Specialist. <br />Dear Mr. Loye: <br />Please refer to your letter of June 22, 1984, relative to the <br />above reference. <br />Each item will be answered in the same sequence as asked. <br />Exhibit B. <br />(, A Backhoe will be used by the operator, The water in the pit <br />will be pumped to the screening-washing operation and then discharged <br />to the settling ponds, with no direct discharge into the <br />AY~kansas River. <br />Exhibit E. <br />3, The entire cut slope will be protected with 12-inch plus material. <br />The water is planned by drain pipe to be 3 foot from the top, The <br />thickness of the slope protection along the slope will depend <br />on the quantity of material available, but in no cases less than <br />6-inches, The area around the ponds, per our letter of June 19, <br />1984, Exhibit E, Item 3, the topsoil will be replaced and seeded <br />in accordance with the U. S. Soil Conservation Service recommendations. <br />4. The topsoil replacement thickness will be the same thickness <br />as presently exists in the area, which is approximately 8 to 12 <br />inches. <br />
