• • iii iiiiiiiiuiii iii
AI EXHIBIT B
Mining Plan
Airport Pit
Mining operations will proceed from the existing pit in e~
northerly direction. There will be about y acre of ground disturbed
each year. At this rate the east half of the pit should be exhe~usted
by 1985 or 1986. As work occurs in the east half, the east and
south sloped will be graded to accomplish reclamation.
The southwest quarter of the pit will be used between 19 E.6
and 1990. Existing crush material will have been removed by this
time, and due to the make-up of the pit material, it is not expected
to produce any more crush material than that Which exists in the one
acre crush pile shown on Exhibit C. As material in this section. of
the pit is removed, the south and west slope will be back-slopes.
to accomplish reclamation.
The northwest quarter of the pit will be exhausted between
1995 and 1998. During the operation in this portion of the pit, the
slopes will again be graded as part of the operation in order tc
facilitate final reclamation proceedures as outlined in Exhibit E.
Two basic types of techniques will be used to remove gravel
from this pit. During the summer months, rubber tired loaders M~i th
steel teeth will remove the material. During the winter, a crakler-
dozer with a ripper attachment will be used to break up this frczen
material so that rubber tired loaders can handle the material. Loaders
will then place material into 12 yard tandem dump trucks or 6 yard
single axle dump trucks, depending on the type of work being
accomplished.
- -
C~::C i :; 1977
