(American Sofa) filed an application for a Regular Or+erahon <br />(112) Reclamation Permit (117. Reclamation Permit) Application for the Yankee i_,;.i.ih <br />Sodium ~4inerals Project (Yankee Gulch Project) with the Colorado Division of a9:nerals <br />and Geology cm January 20, 199'x. The Application was determined *.o he <br />administrative)}' complete on February 2, 1999. The purpose of this letter is to p1.r: ide a <br />technical revision to the application, including the addition of a stormwater retention <br />pond and the submitrai of several monitoring and mitigation plans. The total proposed <br />acreage to be permitted will not change as a result of this revision. <br />Exhibit D of the Application describes the mining plan and associated facilities. After <br />the Application was submitted, minor modifications were made to the initial processing <br />design at the Piceance Site. Originally, both process water and surface water runoff <br />were routed to one 13-acre evaporation pond (called the Piceance evaporation pond in <br />Section D.2.4.1 of the Application). The surface water runoff will now be routed to a <br />new 1-acre stormwater retention pond.
