Long
Date: January ~, 1996 oir isl°" okeU n`
Re: Well Abandonment Volumes
Seneca II-A Miae (C-82-057)
I have calculated the volumes of abandonment materials that SCC
used to abandon several of their wells. My calculations were based
on information provided by Dennis Jones in response to our comments
on the PHC. It would appear that there are some discrepancies, in
many of the wells, between the volume of abandonment material used
and the volume of abandonment material necessary to fill the
indicated well volumes.
The attached table summarizes the discrepancies. The entries
highlighted in green show that the volume used was roughly equal to
the volume required. The entries highlighted in pink show that an
insufficient volume of abandonment material was used compared with
what was required. The entries highlighted in blue show that the
volume of abandonment material used was more than the volume in the
well!
These discrepancies are on the order of up to 2700$! We need to
have the operator explain the discrepancies (You may also want to
double-check my calculations). If you or the operator have any
questions, please give me a call.
BLP
cc: Larry Routten
