OF MINERALS <br />& GEOLOGY <br />RE: Trapper Mine Second Quarter 1998 Sediment Pond Inspections <br />Impoundment inspection results for the second quarter of 1998 are enclosed. The <br />inspections were conducted by qualified inspectors under my direction. <br />The ponds were inspected during May 1998 and any deficiencies were noted on the <br />attached inspection forms. Substantial progress has been made in correcting the <br />maintenance items noted. The list of "Maintenance Required" items have been completed <br />for the following ponds: West Buzzard No. 2, West Buzzard No. 3, Far East Buzzard <br />No. 1, East Pyeatt No. 1, and West Flume. <br />Sediment removal from No Name No. 2 is nearing completion, and the top of the <br />embankment for No Name No. 4 was repaired to allow for adequate freeboard.
