Canny <br />Division Director <br />Natural Resource Trustee <br />The Division of Minerals and Geology has completed review of the quarterly reporting <br />for the 151 and 2"d quarters of 2005 submitted for the sediment ponds, discharge <br />monitoring reports, and waste pile at the Southfield Mine, #C-81-014. Please consider <br />our comments and make any necessary changes or adjustments in future reporting to <br />the Division. <br />Discharge Monitoring Reports (DMRI -The DMR's submitted and reviewed reflect <br />observations consistent with Division monthly inspections. No discharges from any of <br />the ponds were observed and/or sampled. <br />Sediment Ponds Inspections- Four sediment ponds are inspected quarterly at this site, <br />pond 4 and pond 5 at the main facility area and ponds 1 and 2 at the coal loadout. <br />Each inspection report demonstrates compliance with Rule 4.05.9(17) for <br />impoundments. <br />Waste Pile Inspections -The 151 and 2nd quarter reports meet the requirements under <br />Rule 4.09.1(11) and 4.10.2(2).
