The mine is
permitted with the Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety under File No. M-97-054. The
$257 renewal fee has been accepted with receipt no. 3607672.
PLAN OPERATION
Mining at the Parkdale Project is projected to continue for 19 years. Currently, the gravel
reserve is above the water table, and dewatering is not necessary at this time. Water is used at
the site for dust control and gravel washing. Evaporation occurs from exposure of 0.5 acres of
water at the settling ponds and 0.1 acres. in the washing pond. You have estimated that 60% of
the material removed from the site is washed and 40% is dry screened. Your attached Table 1
shows the site net evaporation calculations (1.88 acre-feet) and your Table 2 shows the
calculations for water consumed by site operations (36.85 acre-feet). No groundwater was
exposed within the permit boundary prior to January 1, 1981.
DEPLETIONS
You have provided a monthly breakdown of lagged depletions at this site in your attached
Table 3. The table shows that during the period October 06 -September 07 the lagged stream
depletions are estimated to be 39.00 acre-feet and for the period October 07 -September 08
the lagged stream depletions are estimated to be 38.73 acre-feet. These estimates are based
upon ground water evaporation, material washing, and dust control. (See attached Tables 1 and
2.) During this plan approval period, no ground water will be exposed in a dewatering system,
used for reclamation, concrete hatching or any other purpose.
