Dept of Natural Resources
Colorado Mined Land Reclamation Division
1313 Sherman St., 423 Centennial Bldg.
Denver, Colorado 80203
Attention: Mark S. Loye
Subject: Bartley Gravel Pit (110)
Application No. M-84-155
Dear Mr. Loye:
Certified Mail No. P 335 772 752
Return Receipt Requested
Thank You for your prompt review and scheduling of our Bartley Pit application.
We have attempted to answer your 5 September, 1984, inquiry below in the same
order as your letter.
EXHIBIT B
(1) Ivlaterial will be mined to the depths shown on Exhibit C; i.e., elevation ,rr,?<•
6615.5 at the south end and elevation 1630.8 at the north end. This pro- - Z,o~
vides a very gentle slope (1.4~) toward the road culvert at the south end.
(2) Expected mine life is five years, depending upon needs for County Roads
south of Highway 666.
(3) Despite the reported CO-ECS-S soil depth of up to 36 inches, excavation
at the site shows only an average of 6 inches surface soil. All of the
soil stripped to date has been stockpiled, and our estimate is that 7,000
cubic yards will be available for reclamation topsoiling.
(4) Topsoil stockpiles will be broadcast with Pubescent wheatgrass at twice
the 14i/P15/Ac drill application rate.
FXHTRTT R
(1) The culvert through County Road L was recently upgraded to a 36 inch
annular C.M.P. to acconmodate the existing watershed runoff.
(2) Both S.C.S. and the landowner concur with the Reclamation Seeding re-
colnrlendation suggested. Please consider our specification altered to the
following.
Crested Wheatgrass
2.5 lb/ac PLS
Pubescent 11.5 lb/ac "
