Tile, Adequacy letter Response
Dear Bob:
Enclosed is a partial response to your adequacy letter, dealing spe-
C1fiCally with items 7 8~ 8.
Item 7 requests evidence that this site is covered under the Brick
Institute of America Group Stormwater Discharge Permit M 1024. I
called Sarah Johnson at WQCD at your Suggestion, and she was a big
~~ help. Attached is a copy she supplied of 1 page of EPA's list of
Group Applicants, which indicates Chet Summit is covering most of
their operations through this group permit process. Sarah said the
permits will not be issued until the EPA 270 day period is over. It
sounds like permits will then be issued by the State of Colorado,
WgCD. you will note that this pit has been designated as:
~24-0115-F-30 Brauer Cal.
_ ~-~
Itee B states the Division must see the Stormwater Management Plan.
The Plan is enclosed. It is patterned after the Model Stormwater
Management Plan prepared by the Colorado Contractors Association,
Inc., Stormwater Task Force, and is the format being used by most op-
erators 3n ehe state. Vou will--awt-i-ca_ibat tho Plan proposes berms
around the mining segments'as they are Bevel pedti, This will prevent
Stormwater discharge from flowing a 3sturbed area as well
as capturing the precipitation in the pit area that falls in that
area. This plan is designed to prevent material from the pit being
transported to Brocket Creek.
local well data supplied by the Lessor/Owner and others indicates
well depth ranges from 2S0 feet to 300 feet.
The balance of the information requested will be supplied shortly.
Cortlially,
~ ....=
Lloy V.
