There are no structural problems
to report and no evidence of piping in older structures with culverts (principal spillways) through the dam.
All dams are functioning as designed. Spring runoff has past without incident. The vegetation response
from our 1988 seeding is adequate and will be evaluated during the 3rd quaver for remedial seeding this
fall.
During the 2nd quarter, sediment levels were again approximated as the water levels and turbidity shielded
observation of actual volumes. However, at the present time no sediment ponds are proposed for cleaning
in 1989. More precise measurements will be made during low water periods this next quarter. In the event
pond cleaning activity does occur in 7989, the Division will be not'rfied for approval. The annual sediment
survey for Coyote Dam will be conducted within 90 days. Based on runoff observations, last years
cleaning should be adequate for several years.
We continue to observe some muskrat activity in our sediment control ponds. Appropriate action is being
taken to insure against future damage.
Sincerely,
f~c~
~~LI.GC~77,( ~~G(J
William Agnew
Senior Environmental Engineer
Attachment
WSH/rbb/036
pc R.L Fanyo
J.M.
