("Applicant"). The
required fee of $257.00 for the renewal of this substitute supply plan has been submitted (receipt
no. 3608995). The original supply plan was approved on December 30, 2002.
Ptan Operation
This plan seeks to replace depletions resulting from mining at the NCCI Pit #1 ("NCCI
Pit"). There will be one dewatering trench around the active mining cell that is 6,400 feet long
and 3 feet wide. This water will be collected in a 100 feet x 200 feet process water pond.
Water from this pond will be carried by a 1,073 feet x 6 feet trench to a 0.5 acre sedimentation
pond. After sedimentation, this water will be returned to Little Dry Creek where it flows back to
the South Platte River. The total exposed water surface is 1.6 acres.
Depletions at the site will result from evaporation, water lost in mined product and dust
control. The lagged depletions will be replaced with three shares of Lupton Meadows Ditch
Company and fully consumable effluent leased from Consolidated Mutual Water Company
("Consolidated"} and the City of Greeley (`Greeley"}.
The reclamation plan for the NCCI Pit is to place a compacted clay liner around the
interior of the mine slopes for the purpose of preventing groundwater seepage from entering
the pit. The applicant has bonded for lining of the pit through the Colorado Division of
Reclamation Mining & Safety.
Depletions
The anticipated consumptive use for this plan is 22.58 acre-feet per year for up to 1.6
acres of water surface exposed after December 31, 1980. According to the information submitted,
no water surface was exposed within the reclamation permit boundary prior to January 1, 1981.
