DANIELSON, DEPUTY STATE ENGINEER <br />SUBJECT: MATHL4S CONCRETE -NORTH FARM ROAD PTT #l, RIO GRANDE <br />COUNTY, APPLICATION FOR MINING AND RECLAMATION PERMIT <br />As requested by your office, we have reviewed the application for a gravel <br />pit near Monte Vista. The applicant has provided insufficient information <br />concerning his use of water in the proposed mining operation, If water will <br />be required for dust control, gravel washing, irrigation, or other purposes, <br />we recommend that the Board be provided with additional information~on- <br />cerning the source, water rights, and amounts of water to be used. The <br />applicant must also provide additional information on the net effect of the <br />evaporation losses from his pond on senior surface rights along the over- <br />appropriated Rio Grande River ~ Until this additional information is pro- <br />vided to the Board, we cannot recorplnend approval of this application. <br />J ris A, Danielson <br />JAD/SSH:mvf <br />cc: D.
