All ponds and check dam structures were
accessible and were checked for structural integrity and vegetation
cover on the outslopes. The ponds were checked to insure that
adequate storage existed for the designed storm events. The ponds
will be surveyed and sounded during the third quarter of 1994 and
at that time annual certifications will be made concerning storage
capacity of the settling pond structures. All ponds were found to
be structurally sound and functioning properly.
Through this inspection process, P&M is requesting that Check Dam
structures #1 and #2 (Most southerly two structures of the draw) be
removed from the inspection list. These two structures have
collected sediment behind the dam structures and are no longer
capable of impounding water.
Should you have any questions regarding these reports, please
contact me at the Edna Mine site.
Sincerely,
David Beverlin
Resident Engineer
cc: Mine File
