Box 1389, Canon City, CO 81212 ~ <br />Colorado Quarries Black Obsidian SE NWZ, Sec 16, T225 R72W Custer County <br />Name/Tvve and Location of ?tine (Legal) <br />Wildlife Species list: <br />Thirteen-lined ground squirrel, red-tailed hawk, white-tailed jack rabbit, <br />cottontail rabbit, mule deer <br />~dangered/critical species/impacted: R E C E I VE D <br />None known <br />MAR 3 01987 <br />MINED LAND <br />Critical habitats/vegetative communities impacted; RECLAMATION DIVISfON <br />Mountain grassland, blue grama, pinon-juniper <br />assessment of Impact: <br />Destroy 9 acres <br />?'?ne Reclamation reco:moendations (include key species/habitats for vhich restoration <br />is designed). <br />Stockpile topsoil during mining operation. Slopes should not exceed 4.to 1. <br />Spread top soil over slopes and roads and seed all damaged areas with the <br />following mixture: <br />Arriba Western Wheat 60R mix 20 lbs./acre <br />Pastura Little Bluestein 20f mix 3 lbs./acre <br />Redondo Arizona Fescue 20~ mix 2 Tbs./acre <br />Broadcast seed and rake into soil tb depth of no more than '~ inch. After <br />seeding mulch with 4000 lbs./acre of hay, crimp mulch into soil to prevent <br />wind from blowing it away. Fence all reclaimed areas with 5 strands of <br />barbed wile 39 to 42 inches high and with 13" between top wire and second <br />wire. Space posts no more than 10 feet. <br />David C.
