Specifically, the Iuppa Well and Refuse Well monitoring points had not been monitored with respect
to field measurements and laboratory analysis at the frequency required by the permit application. All other
surface and groundwater monitoring locations have been monitored as required.
Abatement of this Notice of Violation requires the operator to resume the approved water
monitoring plan (pages 551-554 of the permit) immediately. EFMC has reviewed its monitoring plan with
the mine personnel responsible for collecting water data.
Samples and field data were collected at the Iuppa Well and Refuse Well on January 21, 1993 as
shown on the attached Ground Water Field Data record. This, along with the current monitoring of all
other monitoring locations in the permit area fully abates the Notice of Violation No. C-93-02.
matter.
Please contact me if you have any questions or require additional information concerning this
Sincerely,
~~
Allen S.
