RE: Loveland Pit Permit
In response to the public notice requesting comments for this permit, I have attached
comments from the City of Loveland Planning Commission. The Loveland Planning
Commission has provided these comments to Larimer County and is recommending
conditional approval of the Larimer County Special Review application for this
development.
The attached comments may or may not be relevant to your consideration of the proposed
sand and gravel mine because the comments are directed only at the proposed asphalt
batch plant and would not affect the sand and gravel mine. The public notice and request
for comments did not mention the asphalt batch plant as part of the state permit.
Accordingly, the City of Loveland comments regarding the plant may not affect your
review of the proposed sand and gravel mine.
If the state permit does include the proposed asphalt batch plant, please take into
consideration the comments provided from the City of Loveland Plmtning Commission.
These comments have identified a land use conflict between the proposed plant and an
approved high density residential development. Loveland staff have also identified the
same conflict with nearby City of Loveland park property. Thank you for your
