Dept. of Natural Rzso(Irces <br />RE: Your File: ~p81-22 GL Gravel Pit <br />Dear Sir: <br />Reference your letter of 11 February 1981 concerning adequacy <br />of application for permit to operate above referenced gravel <br />pit. Reference ou.r telecon of 20 February 1981 same subject. <br />Responses to questions raised in referenced letter, confirming <br />responses made during referenced telecon, are as follows: <br />MINING PLAN <br />1. Initially topsoil stockpile will be located in the Westerly <br />portion of they area between Phase Lines 1 and 2 as shown on <br />Sketch of Mining Plan. It is not expected that topsoil will <br />be stockpiled beyond the Phase 1 period, but will be used in <br />reclamation concurrently as mining operations proceed. <br />2. In the event topsoil must be stockpiled more than one (1) <br />year it will tie seeded with dryland grass mixture to pre- <br />serve it from wind and water erosion. <br />3. There will only be one stilling basin utilized throughout <br />the life of tYte mine, and it will always be Located at the <br />Southeast corder of the project area. <br />RECLAMATION PLAN <br />1. There will ini-tially be no public access to this site until <br />reclamation seeding and planting has had opportunity to be- <br />come firmly established, and fish stockage in the lake has <br />been accomplished. Thereafter controlled access by the pub- <br />lic will be pa~rmitted on a "first-come first-served" basis; <br />control will t>e exercised to the extent required to insure <br />that not more people than the area can accommodate will be <br />permitted in the area at any one time. <br />
