This area consists of a
toe Slope off from the main South facing Slope. The area has
sufficient amounts of topsoil except where drainag eways have cut
into bedrock. The soil map unit is the midnight-ROmbo Complex (C3F).
Thls area 1S nOt typlCdl Of this unlt a5 3 Of the 4 Samples drea5
exceeded the maximum 40 inch depth criteria. In fact, ail 3 areas
exceeded depths of 60 inches.
These soils are very similar to Rombo except for the' increased soil
depth. Soil textures are clay loam in the thin surface layer, clay
• in the subsoils and substratum. A and B horizons should be stock-
piled together as there is not any appreciable difference between the
two horizons and the A hOrlZOn averages Only 2-3 inches thick. The C
horizon should be separated due to an increase in carbonates and
lightness in color.
If you have any questions, Let me know.
Sincerely,
ee A.
