April 13, 1992 Somerset Mining Company (SMC) submitted the
permit application package (PAP) under the
approved Colorado State Program to the
Colorado Division of Minerals and Geology
(DMG) for a permit revision for the Somerset
Mine.
April 23, 1992 Colorado DMG determined that the PAP was
administratively complete for public review
and comment.
May 12, 1992 The Office of Surface Mining Reclamation and
Enforcement (OSM) received the PAP.
June 3, 1992 SMC published in the Delta Counties
Independent the fourth consecutive weekly
notice that its complete PAP was filed with
• Colorado DMG.
July 28, 1992 OSM received SMC's submittals amending the
September 21, 1992 PAP.
September 28, 1992
September 25, 1992 Colorado DMG approved the PAP.
September 30, 1992 The Bureau of Land Management provided its
findings and recommendations on the approval
of the mining plan.
October 13, 1992 OSM received Colorado DMG's final Decision
and Findings of Compliance.
December 3, 1992 The State Historic Preservation Office
provided its comments on the mining plan.
February 3, 1993 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service provided
its final consultation comments on the
mining plan.
February 1993 OSM's Western Support Center recommended
that the mining plan be approved.
