Keffelew: <br />RECEIVE® <br />APR 10 2001 <br />Glrlsfon of Minerals and Geology <br />Cripple Creek & Victor Gold Mining Company ("CC&V") is submitting the attached <br />information related to monitoring wells at the Cresson Project, including well logs and <br />completion data for six ground water monitoring wells installed in the Grassy Valley area <br />and well abandonment reports for three wells in the Wilson Creek and Ironclad areas. <br />For convenience, the well completion data is filed on Division of Water Resources Form <br />GWS-31 and the abandonment reports are filed on Division of Water Resources Fa-m <br />G 1J~S-09. <br />Well completion details include the interval of plain casing and perforated casing and the <br />materials used as filter pack and seal. The wells that were abandoned by either shredding <br />the casing with a rotary drill. or by lifting and removing the casing from the monitoring <br />well with a backhoe. Wells were filled with bentonite from the bottom of the well to near <br />the surface. A concrete cap was placed from the top of the bentonite seal to the land <br />surface level. <br />CC&V has previously provided notice to you of both the proposed well drilling and well <br />abandonment.
