Chandler Creek Companies
P.O. Box 370286
Denver, Colorado 80237-0286
October 31, 2007 DECEIVED
NOV 0 G 2001
Mr. Kent A. Gorham, Division of Reclamation,
Division of Reclamation, Mining, and Safety Mining and safety
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203
RE: Coal Mining Pemut No. C-2006-085, "Northfield Mine"
Woody Plant Reestablishment
Dear Mr. Gorham,
As landowners of surface lands potentially disturbed by mining operations conducted
under the above mining permit, we request that no shrubs or trees be seeded or planted on
any disturbed areas during reclamation activities. We have historically used our land for
grazing, and desire the seeding of only grasses and forts to maximize forage production
for livestock.
We also request that the mine operator not be held to any woody plant density standard in
the determination of revegetation success for band release on reclaimed Iands on our
property.
Sincerely,
~,~~_
Daniel L.
