Outtall
001A/001W did not discharge during the period. Attached are blank DMRs for this Outtall with
the No Discharge box checked.
Outtall 002A (site 3001) experienced an exceedance in April 2007. BOD 5-Day was 108 mg/I,
exceeding the 7day average of 45 mg/I, and 30 day average of 30 mg/I. This appears to be
related to a temporary shut down of power to that area, during the rerouting of an underground
powerline. This resulted in the wastewater pond aerators being down for a period. Note that the
problem was subsequently rectified after power was restored. BOD 5-Day values were 16 mg/I
and 18 mg/I during May and June, respectively.
Also note that treated wastewater from Outtall 002A, is eventually discharged into an abandoned
portion of the underground mine works, and does not discharge to any surface streams.
