Bucklen Equipment Company has retained ;!
our services to wo`ck on a groundwater monitoring plan as detailed in your inspection report. ~
Your inspection r~port indicates that a monitoring plan nwst be submitted to your office by JUIy
31, 1995. Due to the short notice we aze only able to provide you with a conceptual plan at this •
time. We will submit a detailed monitoring plan by August 31, 1995. This additional time will
be required in order to gain approval from adjacent well owners to use their wells for monitoring
water levels.
The DMG Permit 1V0. M-82-131 includes the existing mine area (Area C on enclosed map) attd 8 '
second pazcel (A18a A on map) which will be mined after Area C is completed. Area B is a
processing plant afea which will not be mined.
Richard Bucklen estimates they will be done mining at the current area, Area C, in two months.
The Bucklen's wilk guazantee, as part of this plan, that prior to next spring the dewatering iti Area ''~, .
C will cease and the pit will be filled with groundwater. Consequently, we do not believE there
will be any value in establishing a monitoring plan around Area C. However, we are proposing . ' .
to monitor 4 to 6 yells surrounding Area A.
Over the next few weeks we will identify all wells adjacent to Area A. Our intention will be to
utilize existing wells in the azea for monitoring, assuming we will gain approval from the well
owners. If requiredl, monitoring wells will be constructed to provide water levels measurernents•
on each side of Area A.
~~..
i
r`k~i1990:Grai~ 3~eet, Suite 4.10 • Denver, Colorado 802334.(303} 452-661 • Fax~03) ft52-~'F .t~,r° l t:
