The application is to mine sand and gravel. Although the gravel pit operation is adjacent <br />to anuttermittent stream, the applicant has stated that no ground water will be affected by the <br />operation. In addition, no water will be used in the operation. <br />We have no objection to approval of the application if no ground water is encountered. Please <br />advise the applicant that, if ground water is encountered, a well permit will be required which will <br />be subject to SB 120 (gravel pits). <br />Please contact this office if you have further questions. <br />cc: Alan Berryman, Division 1 Engineer <br />James Hanrahan, Water Commissioner, District 49 <br />
