As a <br />result, the provisions contained in the regulations for experimental mining practices do not apply. <br />2.06.3 Mountaintop Removal Mining <br />Because the West Elk Mine is an underground mine, the provisions contained in the regulations for <br />mountaintopremoval do not apply. <br />• 2.06.4 Steep Slope Mining <br />Because the West Elk Mine is an underground mine, the provisions contained in the regulations for <br />steep slope mining do not apply. <br />2.06.5 Permits Incorporating Variances from Approximate <br />Original Contour Restoration Requirements for Steep <br />Slope Mining <br />Because the West Elk Mine is an underground mine, the provisions contained in the regulations for <br />steep slope mining do not apply. <br />2.06.6 Prime Farmlands <br />No prime farmlands have been disturbed by mining activities at the West Elk Mine. <br />J <br />2.06-1 <br />
