• • iiiiiiiii-iiiiiiiii
~~~
UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE
SOIL CONSERVATION SERVICE
WILDLIFE INFORMATION
tildlife in the general area of the existing pit and the proposed gravel
pit appears to be coyotes, ,jack rabbits, prairie doge, ground equirn3ls
and a variety of small birds.
The affected area is presently providing a minimal amount of cover and
food for wildlife sad, therefore, continued operation of esieti.ng pit
_ and expansion into the proposed area should not affect wildlife population
in the general aria of construction.
Due to the shortage of water there does not appear to be an economically
feasible method to further enhance wildlife habitat beyond revegetating
the area after mining operations are completed.
The Colorado Division of Wildlife should be consulted if detailed
information on aildlife is needed for the affected area.
page 3 of 6
