DFC
Ceramics, Inc.
October 12, 1976
State of Colorado
Department of Natural Resources
Room 615, 1313 Sherman Street
Denver, Colorado 80203
Attention: Mr. G. F. Rindahl
Director
Mined Land Reclamation
Re: Application for Mining and Reclamation Permit
July 16, 1976 by DFC Ceramics, Inc.
Your reply of August 16, 1976
Dear Sir:
~i~ -~ ~ ~- ~ y~
OCT l~~ 1976

The above application has been reviewed with reference to the
deficiencies noted in your letter of August 16, and an amendment to the
original application is attached.
Please note that our original application was in error in that
it included all of the 148 acres held in our mining lease. Actually,
mining in the past has been confined to a small portion of the lease
area. This will be even more true in the future, as the amount of clay
to be extracted is only a few hundred tons per year instead of 3,000 to
6,000 tons as mined prior to 1962.
Our amendment therefore covers only the 10-acre section on
which work is to be done. We believe this would fall under Section
34-32-110 (Limited impact operation) of the Mined Land Reclamation Act
rather than Section 34-32-112 designed for sieeable mining operations.
Our amendments are therefore as required under Section 34-32-110.
Yours sincerely,
1
Toy Ledbetter
Bice President and General Manager
TL/bn
P.
