,,
LAFARGE
NORTH AMERICA
Construction Materials
March 29, 2004
Ms. Erica Crosby RECEIVED
Environmental Protection Specialist ~
Division of Minerals and Geology MAR 2 9 2004
1313 Sherman Street, Room 215
Denver, Colorado 80203 piyision of Minerals & GealoBY
RE: McCoy Pit, Permit No. M-1981-088 -Proof of Notice to Owners of Record
Dear Ms. Crosby:
Please find attached to this letter Proof of Notification of Owners of Record for the McCoy Pit
Amendment. In addition, there is also proof of placement of the required newspaper legal
notification. There were two notifications returned. An explanation is as follows:
1) The Denver and Rio Grande Railroad was merged into the Union Pacific Railroad in
August of 1996. Proof of this is attached from the Union Pacific Railroad webpage.
Since the Union Pacific Railroad was also notified, this should cover the requirement.
2) The notification for Rene and Charlotte Wolf was also returned. Lafarge leases access
from the Wolfs. I have checked with our accounting department and have been informed
that the Wolfs go to Mexico each winter. Our lease checks are direct deposited to their
account. We have made every effort to contact them, but have been unsuccessful,
however, since we lease access and have not changed the permit boundary or our use of
their property, Lafarge assumes that they will have no objections.
Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 303-657-4336.

John W.
