Operation Reclamation Permit Application No. M-2006-029
Dear Mr. Clark,
Listed below are adequacy review comments on the proposed South Fork Gravel Pit Permit Application No. M-2006-029.
The Division of Minerals and Geology (Division) is required to make an approval or denial decision no later than May 22,
2006, therefore, your response to the following adequacy review concerns should be submitted to the Division as soon as
possible.
Rule 6.3.1 Exhibit A - Leeal Descrintion
I. The legal description must identify the affected land to the nearest quarter-quarter section. Please revise Exhibit A to
include this information.
Rule 6.3.2(bl Exhibit B -Site Description
2. Exhibit B of the application states that there are no man-made structures within two hundred feet of the affected area.
However, based on the Index Map and apre-operation inspection conducted on May 9, 2006, Forest Service Road
(FSR) I42 and FSR 138 appear to be within two hundred feet of the affected area. Please revise Exhibit B to include
FSR 142 and FSR 138 as man-made structures located within two hundred feet of the affected area.
Rule 6.3.2(cl Exhibit B -Site Description
3. Based on a review of the Index Map, there is a stream located immediately south of the proposed operation. Please
describe this stream in Exhibit B and indicate whether this stream will receive drainage directly from the affected
area.
Rule 6.3.3(61 Exhibit C - Minin¢ Plan
3. Exhibit C of the application indicates that there is minimal topsoil on the site. However, the soil description included
with the NRCS letter indicates the subsurface layer consists of twelve inches of gravelly sandy loam. Based on the
soil description provided in the letter, the Division believes that the upper twelve inches of material would be suitable
for use as plan growth medium. In accordance with rule 6.3.3(6) please provide an estimate of how much of this
