Request to Incorporate Plugging and Abandonment Report Forms for
Methane Drainage Wells into the Mining and Reclamation Permit Document.
Dear Mr. Burnell:
MCC is requesting this minor revision to the mining and reclamation permit to incorporate the
Approved Plugging and Abandonment Reports and schematics for specific Methane Drainage Wells
(MDWs) into Volume 11A of the Mining and Reclamation Permit Document. In 2002, MDWs that
were no longer producing significant amounts of methane were abandoned. The wells abandoned in
2002, over Longwall Panel 14, were formerly Gob Vent Boreholes, renamed Methane Drainage Wells
Nos. 14-04, 14-06, 14-07, and14-08. The reports have drilling reports and schematics attached show
the abandonment procedure for plugging each of the holes.
The pads were reclaimed to approximate original contour, seeded, fertilized, and mulched at
completion of well abandonment.
Please notify me if you have questions regarding this minor revision request.
Sincer y,
enry A. arbe
Environmental Engineer
Enclosures: Lang Drilling Reports, CDMG Well Abandonment Reports, Schematics
cc: P.
