These soils are on the bottom lands and flood
plains along the major streams in this area. A description of the
soil and properties of the soil are attached.
The vegetation present at the site is mainly Kochia weed and Russian
thistle. There is very little inland saltgrass. The native vegetation
has been removed in previous years from the stripping of the topsoil
for commercial purposes. There are no trees present except a few small
cottonwoods in the gravel pits that are being worked. The vegetation
that will work in this area is as follows:
Trees
Cottonwood - Populas sargentii
Golden Willow - Salix vitellina aurea
Rocky Mountain Juniper - Juniperus scopulorum
Russian Olive - Elaeagnus angustifolia
Green Ash - Fr axinus pennsylvanica
Lombardy Poplar - Populas lombardi
Silver Maple - Acer saacharum
Willow (native) - Salix spp.
Thornless Honey Locust - Gleditsia triacanthos
Shrubs
Squaw Bush - Rhus trilobata
Willow (native) - Salix spp.
Buffalo Berry - Shepherdia argentea
Siberian Pea Tree - Caragana arborescens
p7 ""+
'~. .-~ 'a 1 , a ~,. , i ,.. k
. ~ ~_
.. f ~ j ,.
~i?~+;ti?AJ~=, i+ G11N; (JyYili~
'~esA I[:,ut661 to .JOyO OIP;;
