Box 1030 <br />Paonia, CO 81428 <br />RE: Annual Operating Plan Modification No. 2 <br />Deaz Sue, <br />MCC is requesting a modification to the 2002 Annual Operating Plan to include the addition of <br />two holes from Pad 17-O1 and a second hole from Pad 17-08. The respective identifications will be <br />MDW 17-Ola, 17-Olb, and 17-Olc, and MDW 17-08a and 17-08b. The holes, as shown on the <br />attached maps, will allow for additional methane drainage from difficult to access azeas of Panel 17. <br />MDW 17-Olb and -Olc are additional holes required to vent methane from a known high gas <br />azea of Panel 17. MDW 17-08b is a substitution for MDW 17-07, which would not be drilled. The 17- <br />08b hole would be drilled in late September and the 17-Olb and -Olc holes in October of this yeaz, after <br />the completion of the first hole from the respective pad. No additional surface disturbance is required <br />to complete the holes. MCC shall abide by all stipu]ations and requirements for constructing MDW 17- <br />01 and 17-08 as defined in the Decision Notice and Conditions of Approval. <br />MCC is planning on retrieving core samples from MDW 17-OS on Sept. 19 and 20. The core <br />will be analyzed for physical and chemical properties to aid in mine design.
