M-84-099
On behalf of our client J-Bar-B, Inc., we will respond to your
adequacy letter questions in the same format as they were asked.
I. Exhibit A - Lggal Description
1. The Maps are correct please see that the revised Exhibit A
enclosed is substituted for the incorrect one in the appli-
cations.
II. Exhibit C - Affected Lands Map
1. Ok, Outlining error.
III. Exhibit D - Mining Plan
1. The SCS soils description indicates that the overburden
is of sufficient quality to be used as top soil if necessary.
In the Altvan soil class area (the southern 1/3 of the
affected lands) it appears from the soils report that the
top 10 to 25 inches would be salvagable, we must keep in
mind however that the site specific depths may be somewhat
less. At the present time most of this area is being used
as irrigated crop land and we would expect at least the
top 10 to 14 inches will be salvagable.
As far as the Aquolis/Aquents soils are concerned, this
depth is quite variable. It appears any soils present
on the flood plane area of this operation are not evenly
distributed. There are places on the property where the
sand and gravel are directly exposed to the surface. We
can only state that we will salvage any soils present from
this area. Please refer to Map Exhibit I-1/J-1 for the
locations of the soil units. Please note Page 8 paragraph
2 line 1 "...soils will be stockpiled in setback and right--
of-way areas ..."
