BUILDINGS
My property, residence and place of business is directly adjacent the boundary of CLC land.
The township of Garfield is within two miles of the CLC boundary, as the crow flies.
2. BLASTING
As stated in earlier correspondence to DNR, my concerns remain the same in regard to blasting
and any potential damage this could effect upon my house and livelihood. Protection of the exist-
ing water source and septic system is critical. Earlier promises for apre-blast survey and 48-hour
notification prior to blasts must be allowed for. Recently I have been researching the history of
this house and have discovered that over the last century it has been connected with historic
county, state and country events and persons.
3. DUST
I appreciate the current distance of CLC's rock sorter and would like to request that it be kept
at least this far-better yet, further-from my home. A huge amount of dust is swirled into the air
from this equipment a.^.d, due to respiratory concerns, it is important I not be breathing this du,t.
4. NOISE
The "beep, beep, beep" noise of CLC trucks as they back up is currently audible from within my
home. With their operations running from sun-up to sun-down in the warm months, this is highly
annoying. As an artist, silence and freedom from disturbance is required. I would very much
appreciate [he mitigation of this noise and, as much as possible, from other noises created by
CLC operations. This could easily be achieved by increasing the distance of their equipment
from my home.
5. RIPARIAN HABITAT
I share the same concerns of the Colorado Division of Wildlife that Ron Dobson expressed in
his 04-26-00 letter. The highlighted area on the attached map is awell-established riparian habitat
which sustains a wide diversity of animals and plants, including American dippers which are
found along pure waterways. Continuing access on the same road CLC has used during the last
two summers, and along Highway 50 above the highlighted area, will help preserve the integrity
of [he ponds and river, and should allow the animals to continue to live in this area.
