This <br />review has been completed and the CMLRD written findings prepared. Public <br />notice of the Division's proposed decision was published in the Delta <br />County Independant on .August 20 and August 27, 1981, and the 30 day public <br />comment period following this publication date expired on September 21, 1981 <br />with no objections or requests for a formal hearing being filed. The State <br />permit was issued on September 24, 1981 upon receipt of an acceptable <br />corporate surety bond in the amount of SI,i16,500.00. <br />Regarding the OSM's decision process, we fully support the Technical Environ- <br />mental Assessment as prepared for the Orchard Valley mine on August 20, 1981, <br />recommending approval with stipulations. <br />Sincerely, , <br />David C.
