David, per your request I updated the ownership and control information for the Bowie #2 Mine
(C-96-083). Jim Stover faxed the ownership and control information for Mitsui Matsushima
America, Inc. to the Division on April 2, 1997. Pages 2.03-2 through 2.03-4i were revised to
include Mitsui Matsushima America, Inc. as a owner of over 10% of the stock of Bowie
Resources Limited. The Applicant Violator System was updated to include Mitsui Matsushima
America, Inc. as a 10% share holder of Bowie Resources Limited. The AVS recommendation
incorporating these changes was ISSUE.
I recommend that after issuance of the Bowie #2 mine permit, a revision be submitted
incorporating Mitsui Matsushima America, Inc. as a controller of Bowie Resources Limited. The
pages noted above should be formally changed under this revision. Jim Stover also mentioned
that Mitsui Matsushima America Inc. will be a controller of the Bowie #1 Mine (C-81-038). He
stated that a revision for this permit will be forthcoming.
