Dept. of Natural Reso~!rces
Per our discussion of September 29, 1982, 3 copies of the Blue Ribbon
mine map are enclosed. This should serve as an accurate indication of mine
progress and mine projections for the five year term. In Blue Ribbon Coal
Company's mine case the projections are life of mine since five years of
mining at projected rates would exhaust existing reserves. This map correctly
defines variances from information now included in the permit application
under Exhibit C, Mine Layout Map and Exhibit S, Mine Production Map.
It is now believed that the projection of a North sub-mains under less
cover and the resulting panel development east will maximize both mine safety
and coal recovery. Marv Adam in our Delta Office has requested United States
Mineral Management agreement with these changes through Barry Kita in the
Grand Junction, Colorado office. Based on your request he asked yesterday,
September 30, 1982, that Mineral Management provide written documentation of
their review of the mine plan change.
Also, be advised that John Gabossi resigned as Mine Superintendent.
Julian Mitchell will serve as interim Superintendent. Correct communica-
tion channels will continue to be the Blue Ribbon Superintendent with a copy
of correspondence to Marv Adam, the Delta Operations Chief Engineer.
Respectfully submitted,
/lr
~,9.Q,~~.-~s~~-
William S.
