Division of 5dildlife's review <br />thereof resulted in the letter (7/1/80) sent to us recommending re- <br />c.~~~sideration of the no lease area, as the studies tend to disprove the <br />~•i-icinal contentions by DOT; that the area contained crucial elk calving <br />grounds. <br />Energ}• Fuels then presented the study results of the area which was <br />prepared under the direction of Kent Crofts, Mine Environmental <br />C.•er~i-ator. T}ie : [ud}• s1FOi:s only a very small number of elk calving <br />:~ t'.ie area in 1919 and 1950 and vegetative cover significantly different <br />.::gin vegetation on =leas c:lFere elk were actually calving.
