I put this memo
together for your benefit, to provide you with an update, and also to give a
list of additional items that need finalizing.
The following occurred Last week:
On Monday, June 21, 1993, I drafted a final adequacy letter to
Darry Ferguson that documented the issues you and I had previously
discussed regarding the permit document (copy of this 6/21/93 memo
enclosed.)
2. On Tuesday, June 22, Darry and I met and reviewed this letter. Darry
indicted he would revise the document accordingly.
3. Also on Tuesday, June 22, Steve Renner and I briefly discussed the
reclamation cost estimates generated by you for this mine at its
worst-case scenario. We agreed that based on the limitations in surface
disturbance described by the applicant, a bond in the amount of $816,526
would be adequate for the operation.
4. On Thursday, June 24, Darry dropped off his final revised pages and
maps. I reviewed these, and found them to be adequate, with two minor
changes in the text still needed (these changes are noted on the revised
pages in your office, where the yellow Post-it notes are attached).
5. On Friday, June 25, I reviewed the Findings Document, and made changes to
reflect the updated version of the permit application (there is still one
minor typographic change that Clerical needs to change; this is noted by
a Post-it note as well).
