Shelton <br />October 15, 1981 Director <br />M E M O R A N D U M <br />T0: File Colorado Coal Mine Cpl, C-024-81 <br />FROM: Susan Mowry ~~. <br />RE: Visit to Mine <br />The site of the proposed Colorado Coal Mine ~{1 was visited <br />with Jim Pendleton, Roy Cox, and Dave Craig, all of our office. <br />There was noone at the site and few changes were noted from pre- <br />vious visits. <br />Maitland Arroyo was dry and the road crossing it was <br />passable. A lot of recent erosion was evident. The proposed lay- <br />out of mining operations and existent surface features were observed. <br />Jim Pendleton looked, unsuccessfully, for subsidence features. <br />The main purpose of the visit was to familiarize the tech- <br />nical staff with the site to better prepare for review of the <br />permit application. <br />SM/cb <br />
