The report is entitled, "A Reconnaissance
Survey and Records Search for the Proposed Foidel Creek Mine" and was
prepared by William R. Killan of Goodson and Associates, Inc. The report
identified three historic sites (5RT342, 5RT343 and 5RT344j and one
protoltistoric site (5RT345). The first t)tree are not considered as
eligible for recommendation for nomination to the National Register of
Historic Places, but the latter one is. The report concludes however,
that since 5RT345 is outside the impact area it need not be nominated.
Would you please send a letter of concurrnce on Colorado Yampa Coal
Company's conclusions and recommendations as discussed with Jim.
A rapid response to this letter is requested because we are completing a
permit review.
